Dark comedy is served at the historic Royal Theatre as the Young Players Second Stage and Arvest Bank proudly present Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, 111 S. Market Street, in downtown Benton.

Show times are January 4 – 6 and 11-13 at 7 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 pm on the 7th and 14th.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (60+), college age with a valid student ID, and military, and $6 for students (ages 3 – high school).

An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett’s luck sharply shifts when Todd’s thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up!

The Young Players Second Stage production features Koty Mansfield as Sweeney Todd, Georgeann Burbank as Mrs. Lovett, Mark Burbank as Anthony, Abby Woodward as Johanna, Hannah Blacklaw as Lucy, Braxton Johnson as Adolfo Pirelli, Ethan Patterson as Tobias Ragg, Tanner Ogelsby as Judge Turpin, and Payton Justice as Beadle Bamford. The Ensemble includes: Meg Amason, Avery Bruce, Matthew Burns, Nathan Clay, Jack Clay, Skyla Conger, Luke Ferguson, Matthew Glover, Isabella Hammonds, Reagan Hammonds, Hannah Hill, Emily Johnson, Katelyn Jones, Ryan Lynch, Destiny Marchese, Andrew McBride, Christian Waldron. Adult Mentors include: Greg Blacklaw, Sarah Etters Heer, Jamie Partain, Beth Ross, and Rita Woodward.

Under the direction of Justin A. Pike, the creative team includes Daphne Shoppach and Tanner Ogelsby as music directors, and Reagan Hammonds as choreographer. Co-Produced by Melissa Glover and Charlotte Hammonds. Actors come from Garland, Saline, Pulaski, Grant, Hot Springs, Lonoke and Faulkner counties.
